IF YOU HAVE any experience with a toddler, you know the difficulty of getting one to surrender. Toddlers often stubbornly demand their own way, wanting control over what they eat, when they sleep, and what they wear. However, a loving mother knows what her children need to survive and thrive, and she knows that surrender and trust will make life go more smoothly for them, ultimately making them happier. How often do we act like toddlers in our relationship with God? We want life on our own terms. However, God promises that when we surrender and trust him with our lives, we will not be disappointed. When we fully surrender to God, we release our grip on our lives and instead cling to the one who truly knows what we need.
