love of God - How can I be sure God loves me? How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. Psalm 36:7 Each day the LORD pours his unfailing love upon me. Psalm 42:8 Yahweh! The LORD! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. Exodus 34:6-7 Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 106:1 SOMETIMES IT’S HARD to believe that God really loves us. Perhaps we know about his love but haven’t personally experienced it. But God intended his love to be the foundation for how we live, make decisions, and relate to others. God’s Word is all about his love for us. He doesn’t love us because he has to. He loves us because he created us, knows us, and calls us his children. The only way to really allow God’s love for us to sink in is to meditate on his love in his Word and open our eyes to the multitude of ways he shows us his love every day. Sometimes he shows us love through a sunset with our favorite colors. Other times it’s through the kindness of a friend or a child. Sometimes it’s through a whisper to our hearts.
