God,

Many people today see the Bible as a historical work of fiction. But your Word has stood the test of time better than any other document in human history. Over several centuries, you inspired a select number of people to write down what you wanted to reveal to us about yourself and how you expect us to live. It is your love letter to us, your people. Your words have been faithfully preserved because they are your messages to people in all times and places. You will not let them disappear from the face of the earth or allow them to be altered by human hands. Because the Bible is a story of your love for all creation, it applies to all generations, cultures, and social classes. And even more astounding, it also speaks to each of us individually. Your Word offers wisdom about everything, from the practical matters of daily life to the eternal matters of the heart. It is relevant because it gives me a picture of who you are and what you have in store for me when I trust and follow you. No other book is as deeply life changing as the Bible, your inspired Word. Thank you, God, that each time I read the Bible, I learn more about how I fit into your miraculous love story.
