A prayer about Prayer
Trusting God through prayer helps me accept his answers
Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you listen carefully to every prayer and answer me. You are my heavenly Father, and I know that you love me and want what is best for me. Therefore, I know I can trust you whether you answer my prayers with a yes, no, or even wait. Doesn’t any loving parent give all three of these responses to a child? I’m glad you do not spoil me by giving in to my every whim. How often have I asked you for things that later I realized were not pleasing to you? But you do not always answer no. You are not a vindictive, stingy God. You love to give abundantly to your children because you are generous and merciful. While I often am frustrated when you ask me to wait, I know that you don’t just put my requests on hold because you’re too busy to respond. Instead, your answer is often delayed to make me ready or to open my eyes to what is best for me. Father, I rejoice in talking with you because I know you will answer in a way that is perfect and wise.
I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Psalm 116:1
