When I’m overcome by obstacles
Holy God,
Your power is working for me, no matter how many enemies are against me. This truth gives me great encouragement! I see so many examples in your Word. You used the shepherd boy David to overcome the powerful Goliath. You used Gideon’s three hundred soldiers to defeat the vast armies of Midian. You used a simple peasant girl to bear your Son. And you used twelve disciples to establish the worldwide church. If you can do all that, it’s clear you can work through even my weaknesses and limitations. I’m so thankful that I don’t have to be strong or smart or beautiful for you to do great things through me. All you ask is that I obey you. Thank you for the reassurance that I don’t need to worry about the obstacles in front of me because I don’t have to handle them—you will make a way. May I trust you and follow you always so that you may work in me.
